Your Sip & Savour Tuscany retreat is thoughtfully curated—from airport transfers and luxury accommodation to world-class dining, wine tastings, and immersive cultural experiences. All that’s left is a little preparation on your part. To make packing effortless, I’ve put together a simple guide with everything you’ll need for an unforgettable week in Tuscany.
Travel Documents – Bring a valid passport (check expiration dates!) and ensure you don’t need a visa. U.S. citizens can stay in Italy for up to 90 days visa-free. I always recommend travel insurance for peace of mind—whether for medical emergencies or unexpected travel changes. Also, keep a digital backup of your documents just in case.
Money – Most places accept credit and debit cards, but having some euros in cash is always useful, especially in rural Tuscany. ATMs are widely available, and I can help if you need to find one.
Chargers & Adapters – Italy uses Type F and Type L sockets, so bring a universal travel adapter. A portable phone charger is handy for long days exploring.
Day Bag – A stylish crossbody bag, tote, or small backpack is great for keeping essentials while out on excursions.
Tuscany’s weather varies by season, so check the forecast for Palaia before packing. Here’s a simple guide to help:
Spring (March–May) – Light layers, breathable fabrics, and swimwear if you’d like to enjoy the pool.
Fall (September–November) – Layering is key! Mornings and evenings can be crisp, so bring a jacket or cozy sweater.
Comfortable Shoes Are a Must! Cobblestone streets and vineyard visits call for good walking shoes. Flip-flops or sandals are perfect for relaxing by the pool.
For Women:
Evenings: Think elegant yet relaxed—dresses, stylish trousers, or jeans with a blouse. A light cardigan or jacket is handy for cooler nights.
Daytime: Comfortable casual chic—linen pants, flowy dresses, or smart-casual outfits. Avoid heels and opt for flats or sandals instead.
For Men:
Evenings: Smart casual is perfect—chinos or jeans with a linen shirt or polo. A light sweater or blazer adds an elegant touch.
Daytime: Relaxed and comfortable—shorts, breathable shirts, and comfy walking shoes.
A light mac & umbrella are provided, just in case of rain. A washing machine and dryer are also available at the resort—so pack light!
While we’ve covered the essentials, a few thoughtful extras can make your retreat even more comfortable and enjoyable. Here are some small but mighty additions to your suitcase that you’ll thank yourself for bringing!
We provide shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, and hand wash at the resort, but bring any personal skincare or specialty products you love. Essentials to pack:
There’s a pharmacy nearby if you need anything during your stay. If you take prescription medication, I recommend carrying a copy of your prescriptions, just in case.
Morning Walks with Paul – If you’d like to join our optional morning reflections (vineyard walks, breakfast picnics, or journaling), bring comfortable activewear & walking shoes.
Swimming – If visiting between March and September, the pools are breathtaking—don’t forget swimwear!
I hope this guide helps you prepare for your Sip & Savour Tuscany retreat. Pack light, bring comfy shoes, and don’t stress—if you forget something, we’ve got you covered!
